Mama`s Fried Chicken in Opelousas

Very very very good food. From the shrimp to the burgers everyone was stuffed and smiling. I cant say enough about how good the food was. Service was great and this place was clean clean. One of my new favorite places to eat. I give it👍👍

This restaurant is nice and roomy, the meals was delightful and the rates were very affordable. rapidly, productive service and very welcoming staff members. I recommend this place.

They have great chicken and chicken livers! Nobody has better biscuits!! And the corn nuggets are phenomenal!!

The food here is always good. Smells amazing! They are always busy with long drive-thru lanes but they are pretty organized and swift. I would give them a 5 but drop them down one b/c the majority of their workers are not very nice. The look on their faces speaks a thousand words. There are just a few that's nice.

It was my first time visiting and I find this place to be great, food is delicious and the employees are friendly. The service is unbelievable and fast I would recommend to everyone and I will visit again soon. Thanks guys for the great service keep up the good work.

Every time we are anywhere near Opelousas we have to go to Mama's to eat their outstanding food. I always get fried catfish with rice dressing, and my wife gets chicken tenders and mashed potatoes. Their catfish is melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Their rice dressing tends to be a little peppery but not over the top. The staff is friendly and welcoming, too.

Seriously, this place is amazing! I grew up in the Opelousas area and we ate here often. Coming back years later, I forgot how great their food is. Like, some of the best fried food you can find. My Texas husband also agrees. This is his favorite fried chicken and he's a critic when it comes to food. Everytime we go to visit family there or go to Lafayette, we swing through. My mom & I always get the fried shrimp. They have that clean, delicious shrimp taste that's hard to find nowadays. I'm assuming it's wild caught gulf shrimp because they taste so fresh, always, and seasoned to perfection. The fried pickles are a must try item, if you like fried pickles. Delicate and crisp. So the pickle taste doesn't completely take over. And the fried oreos for dessert, yum! This place has it going on, that's for sure.

The biscuit that came with our fried chicken was homemade, big and fluffy. Fried chicken was great too. Will go back for sure!

Stopped by here during my holiday visit back home and wasn't disappointed. The food is always on point - ALWAYS! Everybody from that area knows that Mama's is the spot for all things fried, with a side of seasoned fries, a large cup of some fresh squeezed lemonade and dessert if you don't burst from eating so much. If you're visiting out that way, go check them out. Guaranteed 👍👍

Second time coming to Mama's Fried Chicken. Came all the way from Texas on our way to New Orleans. This is a must exit place to eat. Food is hot and perfectly cooked. Staff is friendly and helpful. Stopping back by on Sunday. Thanks again for being a comfort food stop.

I constantly come by getting some food in this spot. I enjoy the prompt service and well prepared dishes. Never disappointing.

The place offers an awesome range of fresh food. I liked dining here. Employees are always kind, prices are affordable and the place is always kept clean.

On our way back from Texas we we're looking for a non fast food restaurant for lunch and ran across Mama's Fried Chicken which had some pretty decent reviews and decided to give it a try. I have chicken salad sandwich in my daughter had some fried chicken along with some mashed potatoes and gravy and some fried okra. The food was excellent. We had pretty good timing cuz after we ordered it got rather busy!

This is why I love going to local places. This is my first time to eat at Mama's Chicken and it was great. They obviously take care of their customers. I didn't even leave a review, just a 5 star rating and they took the time to reply. I'm a couple hundred miles away, but I can promise if I'm ever anywhere Obelousas, I'll be back.
